Desperate for their son, the villager poisons the minor daughter

SARGODHA: Desperate for a son, a villager killed his 18-month-old daughter in the Bhagtanwala area on Thursday.

Muzamil of Chak 81-NB was upset after his wife gave birth to a third daughter. He tried to kill her but was refrained by his wife and other relatives.

On Thursday, he made the daughter swallow some poison. She was taken to a hospital, but she expired on the way.

Police said the hunt for the accused was on.

Three were held for ‘assaulting’ a girl

TAXILA: Five persons were booked for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Attock, and three have been arrested.

The incident occurred in Makhad Sharif’s locality in the limits of Jand police.

The victim’s father, while lodging a report with the Jand police, stated that he was a native of Kohat living in a rented house in the Makhad Sharif and working as a daily wager.

He said his wife was visually impaired, and his daughter looked after her.

He said the five persons subjected his daughter to sexual assault, taking advantage of his wife’s disability.

When contacted, a police spokesman said that a case had been registered against the suspects after a medical examination of the victim, which confirmed the assault.

He said three suspects had been arrested while two were still at large.

Man kills daughter in Manghopir area

KARACHI pitiless man killed his teenage married girl for honour in the Manghopir area of Karachi. According to details, the 19-year-old girl went missing from her husband’s house and informed his father-in-law about the missing of her wife. Later, the girl was recovered from the Quaidabad area and brought back home. The girl’s father axed her to death for honor and buried her body near his house.

On the complaint of the deceased girl’s husband, police registered a case into the incident, and the girl’s body will be exhumed on the court’s orders for further investigation. In October 2016, the joint session of parliament passed long-awaited legislation closing a loophole that allowed people who killed for “honor” to walk free. The legislation, passed unanimously by the National Assembly, mandates life imprisonment even if the victim’s relatives forgive the murderer.

A family member said a five-year-old girl died after allegedly being administered a wrong injection in Ubauro on Thursday. The incident took place in a suburban village, Deen Muhammad Kush. The girl’s father, Iqra, said they had gone to a local doctor for cough treatment. “The girl died soon after she was injected,” he claimed. “Shaban Soomro is a quack. He could not even produce his degree when asked,” he added. He demanded that a case be registered against the quack, and an arrest be made.

The victim’s uncle – Fatima – came forward with a claim that he was threatened by the culprit, Asad Shah’s father-in-law, identified as Fayyaz Shah. He alleged that Fayyaz Shah threatened him after a video featuring his daughter went viral. The victim’s uncle demanded Pir Fayyaz Shah’s arrest for allegedly threatening him. It has come to light that Fatima’s family had entrusted the girls’ safety to the house of the [Pir’s] holy family. The deceased girl’s family demands justice, with calls for the strictest punishment for Pir Asad Shah, the prime suspect in Fatima’s murder case.
