FIA arrests suspect in sexual harassment cases

Islamabad: FIA Islamabad Circle arrested a man on charges of sexually harassing a woman. Accused Muhammad Iqbal was involved in harassing and blackmailing the victim through objectionable pictures. While the accused, Muhammad Iqbal also shared objectionable pictures with the victim’s family on WhatsApp.

FIA Cyber Crime Circle Islamabad arrested Muhammad Iqbal and recovered the mobile phone from his possession and sent the mobile phone to the forensic lab for further evidence. A case was registered against the accused under PECA Act.

On the other hand, FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Peshawar is cracking down on elements involved in gas theft. FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Peshawar arrested 2 suspects involved in gas theft and sale of fake medicines. Falaknaz, a resident of Upper Dir, was arrested by raiding a hotel named Peshawar Grill located in the Gul Bahar area of Peshawar. The accused had installed an illegal gas connection at the hotel.

According to the report, accused Falk Naz was involved in gas theft worth more than Rs34 lakh annually. During another operation, FIA arrested Muhammad Ismail, a resident of Nowshera, on the identification of the accused who was already arrested against the accused who was playing with the precious lives of people in the name of fake medicines. After FIA arrested the accused, further investigation is going on.

Another woman allegedly raped in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A woman was allegedly raped in the capital, police said on Friday.

 

According to the police, the victim, who is six months pregnant, was going to the Tarnol police station after quarreling with her husband when she met a man on the way. She told the man about her issues, who then offered to show her the way to the police station as she did not know the location. However, instead of taking her to the police station, the suspect took her to a flat in Jhangi Syedan and raped her.

 

A case was registered with the Noon police station on the complaint of the victim.

 

Man shot, injured

 

A man sustained gunshot injuries during a robbery attempt in the capital, police said on Friday.

 

The incident took place at I-8 Markaz where robbers shot and injured Mohammad Yousuf as he came out of a bank after withdrawing Rs950,000 and boarded a car to go home.

 

Police said when Yousuf tried to speed away after the armed men intercepted him, he was shot at and injured by the robbers.

 

However, he managed to drive away but hit a footpath on Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Road at I-8/2 when he lost control due to excessive bleeding.

 

The injured called his family who reached the spot and shifted him to hospital, the police said.

 

The Industrial Area police registered a case against the robbers on the complaint of the victim.

 

Meanwhile, the police also registered six cases of robberies, four incidents of street crime, four vehicle thefts, and five incidents of motorcycle thefts.

Young woman killed hours after being handed over to parents

JAMSHORO: A 26-year-old woman who had sought protection from the local police met a tragic fate hour after being handed back to her parents. Unidentified assailants mercilessly gunned down Mehar Buledi right before the eyes of her parents outside a Motorway police office on the Superhighway.

After the devastating incident was reported, the Jamshoro police rushed to the scene, took possession of Mehar’s body, and transferred it to Bilawal Medical College Hospital Kotri.

Hailing from Goth Allah Rakhiyo Khoso, Mehar’s father, Mohabbat Buledi, tearfully recounted the harrowing tale to the police. He revealed that he and his wife were escorting their daughter in a rickshaw to Jamshoro when a man, identified as Gul, aka “Ismail Phor” intercepted their tri-wheeler.

Gul’s sinister intent was apparent as he tried to abduct Mehar against her will, and in a tragic twist, he pulled the trigger, killing Mehar on the spot.

Mehar had recently eloped with the one her heart chose. A day before her gruesome murder, Mehar, with a plea for protection, had approached the Jamshoro police station, seeking refuge from the storm brewing around her. However, her cry for help fell on deaf ears as police allegedly returned her to the care of her parents.

Meanwhile, Jamshoro police vowed to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice. A thorough investigation into the tragic circumstances surrounding Mehar’s murder has been set in motion, as her grieving family demands answers and accountability.
