DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A man killed his sister for honour in Basti Raitwali area here on Tuesday.
A Gomal University police station official said that the suspect killed his sister after finding her with a young man in his house. He said the youth got injured in the firing. The official said that the woman died on the spot, adding the injured was shifted to a hospital.
The police registered a case against the victim’s brother.

LAHORE: A man gunned down his wife and mother-in-law in the limits of Shahdara police on Tuesday following a domestic issue.
The victims were identified as 65-year-old Irshad Bibi and 40-year-old Asiya Bibi. The accused Saifullah fled the scene. Police and forensic experts collected evidences from the site. Bodies were shifted to morgue by Edhi ambulance.

ISLAMABAD: The FIA Cybercrime Wing Rawalpindi arrested a man allegedly involved in blackmailing a girl by sharing her ‘objectionable pictures’ on social media.
The FIA arrested the accused from the Saddar area of Rawalpindi and registered a case.
According to officials, Dawood Shah was accused of uploading objectionable photos of a 23-year-old girl on Facebook, sharing them on WhatsApp numbers and blackmailing her.
The team recovered two mobile phones from his possession which were found to be linked to his Facebook ID and WhatsApp number.
The accused will be produced before a court for his physical remand.
Meanwhile, Westridge police arrested a man named Bilal for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl who collects papers and used plastic items to sell. The scavenger’s mother told the police that Bilal took her daughter to a secluded storage room of a shop and raped her.
Police registered a case. A medical examination of the victim has been conducted. SP Potohar Rana Abdul Wahad has stated that a challan supported by strong evidence will be filed, and the suspect will be sentenced by the court.

Islamabad: First Lady Begum Samina Alvi on Monday called for the mainstreaming of women from far-flung areas through the creation of better opportunities and enabling environment for them.
She was addressing a ceremony held here to launch a book written by Zeeshan Zia Raja and titled ‘101 Incredible Women CEOs of Pakistan’. The first lady said Pakistani women were rendering exemplary services in almost all fields of life.
She highlighted the efforts of the government for widening business and entrepreneurship opportunities for women. In the book, Zeeshan Zia Raja, the head of American Lycetuff School System, paid tribute to women working as heads of institutions in both public and private sectors. He said the book was meant to highlight Pakistan’s soft image as a country with an inclusive environment for women.

Rewritten by Zehra Nigah through the female lens the iconic poem now aims to inspire young girls to dream big.
