Man kills wife for honour, sets body ablaze

SARGODHA – A farmer gunned down his wife over suspicion of illicit relation and set the dead body ablaze here at village 134/NB the other day.

As per detail, Umar Hayat, son of Ahmad Yar, a resident of Chak-134/NB married with his relative Faizan Bibi 9 years ago. However, he doubted that his wife, the mother of a two-year baby girl, had developed extra-marital relations with a neighbour namely Saqlain.

He lost his temper and shot her dead. Later, he set the body on fire after sprinkling petrol on it.
The Sillanwali Police reached the spot and shifted the body to THQ Hospital for autopsy.
On the report of the deceased’s brother Muhammad Khan, the police registered a case.

Expo to promote creativity among businesswomen starts

ISLAMABAD: A two-day expo to promote women in the creative industry of Pakistan, organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), kicked off on Saturday, a statement said.

A large number of women from across the country took part in the expo, while it attracted a large number of local and foreign buyers, it said.

After the opening ceremony, Engr. Shadia Yousif Bakhait, chief of UNIDO, Pakistan, said that the exhibition is a good tool to empower women entrepreneurs.

This event provides an opportunity to women entrepreneurs to display and market their products, develop skills, find new customers and improve networking, she said.

Man kills wife; shopkeeper axed to death

SARGODHA: A man killed his wife at Chak 134 NB on Saturday for maintaining alleged illicit relations with a man.

Police said Umar Hayat Sangha of Chak 134 NB shot her his wife Hafizaan Bibi, burnt the body and fled. The body was shifted to the THQ Hospital Sillanwali for post-mortem.

Separately, Ashfaq Jatt of Vijh, Sahiwal Tehsil, axed shopkeeper Muhammad Ramazan to death over an old enmity and fled. Police have registered cases.
