NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Armed men riding two cars broke into a house in Tharushah town and kidnapped a young girl and her married cousin on Monday apparently in a dispute over as freewill marriage.
Police said that eight armed men struck the house in Ward No 2 and after terrorising inmates and neighbours with firing into the air, they took away 17-year-old Naila Baladi and her 25-year-old cousin, Ms Hameedan.
Tharushah SHO Sikander Ali Chang said that Ms Baladi’s brother, Nasir Baladi, son of Ali Mohammad, had contracted a freewill marriage with Rukhsana Almani, a resident of Almani village situated near Moro, in a Naushahro Feroze court about two months ago.
He said the armed men, apparently acting at the behest of Ms Almani’s close relatives, kidnapped Mr Baladi’s sister along with the other woman.
He said a police team was dispatched to nab the kidnappers’.
Meanwhile, Mr Baladi’s other family members have moved to some unknown place out of fear.
