KARACHI (December 21 2008): Additional District and Sessions Judge, East Sanaullah Khan Ghouri on Friday adjourned hearing of Razia Kubra rape case commonly known as Mausoleum rape case till January 5.
Earlier, Maqbool-ur-Rahman advocate, counsel for victim lady appeared before the court in response to a bail-able warrant of arrest issued against her client and moved an application to condone absence of the victim who was stated to be ill at her home place (in Punjab).
The court allowed the application adjourning the matter till January 5, 2009. Accused Khadim Hussain, Raja Arif and Arif Ansari, security and other officials at mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam were present before the court on Saturday. The case pertain to alleged gang rape of Razia Kubra, a newly wed girl who came to pay homage to father of the nation on her maiden visit to Karachi city along with family.
The prosecutor alleges that she fell unconscious after some one put a wet cloth (presumably chloroform) on her nose. She was taken to a store type room where she was gang raped in semi conscious condition. Police after the nightlong search found her in bad shape from outside one of the main gates of the mausoleum. The victim identified the rapists at an identification parade before the trial court.
