`As for enrolment of out-of-school children, our district [Upper Kohistan] ranks second across the province,` deputy commissioner Tariq Ali Khan told reporters on Saturday.
He said the government had set the target of enrolling 451 out-ofschool girls, including dropouts, and the district administration surpassed it by enrolling530 girls due to the education department and district administration`s dedicated efforts, including a door-to-door campaign.
The DC said the same success was recorded among boys.
He said the government had set a target of enrolling 3,000 boys, including both new entrants and dropouts, but the administration managed to enrol over 4,000 students across the district.
Mr. Khan praised both male and female district education officers for `playing a vital role in bringing children to the school.`
