Three killed in Pakpattan over marriage and honor disputes

Pakpattan saw three shocking crimes—one girl shot dead over rejected marriage, one man attacked over love marriage, and one killed by own cousin in honor case.

At Mohalla Noor Park, 19-year-old Alisha was shot after refusing to marry a married man. She got bullet in stomach and died while going to hospital. Imran, the suspect, already had wife and kid but still wanted to marry her. Alisha and her mother rejected him. Some reports say Imran picked Alisha from bus stop after she came from Lahore, dropped her home, and they argued. When she reached Mohalla Noor Park, he shot her and ran. Police filed case, but he still missing.

In other case in Mohallah Hasanpura, Muhammad Areez, a tailor, got attacked after his love marriage angered his in-laws. He married Rabia in court in February, knowing her family not agree. Later, Rabia’s mother accused Areez of kidnapping. Her family stormed Areez’s home and shop, but found his brother Usman there instead. They tortured him and shot both legs. Neighbors, hearing gunshots, saved Usman by locking him inside a room. Attackers fired in air while escaping. Police registered case against five, including Rabia’s family members.

Pakpattan police also solved two honor killing cases. In one, widow’s only son, Kashif Tanveer, got shot in head at Chak 165A/9-L during Sehri. He was milking animals when unknown shooters attacked. His mother filed complaint, and police investigated. They arrested Kashif’s cousin, Zaman, who confessed. He thought Kashif had affair with his wife, so he killed him.

DPO Rana Tahir visited crime spots and said police trying hard to arrest all suspects and give justice.
