Bahawalpur District and Sessions Judge Zubair Shehzad Kiani on Monday handed down death sentence on two counts, along with Rs0.6 million fine, to a man for killing his two minor daughters.

According to the prosecution, the convict, Sarfraz killed his two minor daughters, Tayyaba and Laiba, over a dispute with his wife Asia in 2024 in the limits of Musafirkhana police station.The police registered FIR No 342/24 against him on the complaint of the mother of the deceased girls, arrested Sarfraz and submitted the case challan in the court.

The learned judge announced the guilty verdict against the convict and ordered that the fine amount will be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased girls.

In case of defaulting on the fine amount payment, the convict will have to serve an additional sentence of six months for each murder.
