Three brides killed before honeymoon over

KARACHI: They were all 22 years old and had been married for two, four and seven months before someone killed them. Their names are Sana, Saima and Bushra and the police are waiting for the postmortem reports to aid the investigations into their deaths.

Nadeem Sharif’s wife Sana was found dead at her home No. D/367 in Hasrat Mohani Colony, Pak Colony Thursday. She died after hanging but it was not clear if she killed herself or was murdered. She had been married for just four months. The police dispatched her body to JPMC for a postmortem. An FIR would be registered as soon as the cause of her death is ascertained, Pak Colony police told Daily Times. The rest of the details were sketchy.

Gul Rehman’s wife Saima was found dead in her house, No 12 Swat Colony, Baldia Town No 5, at least 24 hours after she was killed. The police believe she was killed by a hard blow to the head. Her body was taken to Civil hospital for a post-mortem. Her father Ghani Muhammad had reported to the police that when he went to her, no one answered the door.

He broke into the house where he discovered her dead. Ghani said he suspected her husband might have killed her as he had absconded. Saima had been married for seven months, the Baldia Town police told Daily Times. No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

Mushtaque Ahmed’s wife Bushra was found dead at her parents’ house near MPA House in Gulshan-e-Sikandar in the precincts of Jackson police station. She was married two months ago but as she had done so on her own, her parents were angered by the match. The dispute ended over a week ago after the couple reached a compromise with her parents. She had been at her parents’ house on Thursday. She was found strangled. The Jackson police dispatched her body to Civil hospital and the Jackson Police registered an FIR No 386/07 under section 302 CrPC on behalf of her husband against her father, Javed.
