NOWSHERA, Oct 24: A woman lawyer has accused a union council nazim of attacking her house to abduct her. She has claimed that her parents were beaten up in the incident.
Speaking at a press conference here, Ms Bilqees of the Azakhel village said the Azakhel union nazim Sajid Iqbal, a former fianc̩ of hers Рand his armed accomplices opened fire on her house and then forced their way in to catch hold of her parents.
She said the attackers beat her parents up, badly hurting them. She said she had hid herself in the house.
She alleged that when she approached the police to get an FIR lodged in the case, they refused to do.
She was accompanied by her parents and Councillor Kulsoom Bibi at the news conference.
She said that Sajid was harassing her and her family after he broke engagement with her. She said the Azakhel police station registered the case after five days of the attack on her house.
Nowshera DPO Mubarak Zeb, when contacted, said that he was on leave when the incident occurred.
“We registered the FIR and will take action according to the law,” he said.Azakhel police station
SHO Zain Khan rejected the allegations and said that the police delayed registration of the case because Councillor Kalsoom Bibi had assured them that she would re-solve the matter through a jirga.
