GUJRANWALA, April 9: A local court has asked police to register a case against a rickshaw owner who sold the kidney of his wife without her knowledge and deserted her later. Saifullah of Ladheywala Warriach took ailing Safia to Rawalpindi for treatment and sold her kidney for Rs120,000. On return, he bought an auto rickshaw.

Safia told the court when she learnt about the cheating, she lodged a strong protest with Saif. “But he beat me and made me leave the house.”

The court ordered police to register a case against Saif and their minor son be handed over to mother.
