Woman’s body recovered

ISLAMABAD: The police have recovered a decomposed body from the Sihala area.

Shahzad Shabbir, a local of the Sihala Khurd village, reported to the police that some village children were playing in a field when they saw a human hand emerging from the soil.

The children informed Shabbir, who took a look himself and then alerted the Loi Bher police.

The Police dug up the ground to find the decaying body of a woman. A policeman at the Loi Bher Police Station said the body had spent four-to-five months decomposing.

“It was almost reduced to bones,” the policeman said. “It was difficult to identify any torture marks because of the decomposition.”

Police have not been able to identify the dead woman yet. They said there were no corresponding reports of missing women from the area, but remained open to the possibility that the woman might have been killed and buried in the field by one or more unidentified people.

The police shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and are now awaiting a medical report. A murder case has been registered at the police station.
