Woman President

Sir: Since its inception there have been vital services rendered by women for democracy in Pakistan, Often these fine contributions to strengthen the democratic process are openly acknowledged. From Fatima Jinnah to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, the democratic history of our country is carved in the brave deeds of our women.

Thus it is a timely debate to make women visible partners in state institutions. Now when the president is completing his tenure and nearly every party is nominating their candidates for the post of the president, I am giving my suggestion to the PML-N to nominate a female candidate for the upcoming elections of the president of Pakistan.

According to the constitution of Pakistan, any person who is 45 years of age can be appointed as president through the required procedures. The ball is in the court of the ruling party who can make a big difference through such a bold decision.
