Karachi: A woman was hammered to death and her two daughters thrown in an underground water tank by their tenant in Korangi on Friday.
After an exchange hot words with Gulshan Naureen, 35, at their residence in Allah Walla Town No. 59, Asif picked up a hammer and attacked the woman, killing her on the spot, Korangi Industrial Area police said.
He then threw the minor daughters of Naureen – five-year-old Iman and nine-year-old Sobia – into the underground water tank.
One of the neighbours went to the woman’s house and saw the body lying in a pool of blood.
Police arrived at the spot and found the minor girls floating in the water tank. The victims were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where Iman was pronounced dead while Sobia survived.
Woman slaughtered
The slaughtered body of Madina Khatoon, 38, wife of Muhammad Akram, was found inside her house near Darul Islam in Liaquatabad No. 9
The husband found the woman lying in a pool of blood when he returned home from work, police said.
The police shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police also suspected that the woman might have committed suicide.
