SHEIKHUPURA: A woman was axed to death allegedly by her husband in Moza Bhiki.
Deceased Zarkhat Bibi was married to Behram Khan, a resident of Gujrat. The woman after a quarrel with her in-laws had come to her parents’ house in Bhiki. Meanwhile, Behram visited his in-laws house to take her back.

Under the guise of shopping, he took her out of the house, killed her and threw her body in a nearby field. Bhiki police have registered a case against the accused.

WORK AFOOT: The work at the second phase of a housing colony on Faisalabad Bypass Chowk was underway on a piece of 115 acres and 6 kanals land, said the district administration.

DCO Ali Jan Khan said that levelling of ground and construction of roads was underway. According to the plan, one kanal, 10 marlas, 6 marlas, 5 marlas and 3 marlas plots have been designed. Eighty percent plots could be allotted through balloting while the 20 % remaining would be allocated for the employees of Punjab government.

It would be a gigantic residential project, the DCO said. The balloting would be carried out in an honest way and there was no chance of misappropriation and embezzlement, he said.
