Woman allegedly killed by husband in Orangi

KARACHI: A mother of two children was found dead inside her house in Orangi Town on Monday.

The 24-year-old woman was found dead at a house located in the Muslimabad area of Orangi Town, within the limits of Pirabad police station. Her body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities where she was identified as Nasreen, wife of Sher Khan.

Officials reached the site and collected evidence. Referring to the initial investigations, police revealed that the deceased was a mother of two children and was most likely killed by her husband.

The actual motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained, said SHO Muhammad Mithal. However, it has been confirmed that the victim was killed after being stabbing with a knife, he added. The SHO also revealed that the victim’s body carried torture marks.

The police later claimed to have arrested the victim’s husband, who is a labourer by profession, and recovered the knife used in the murder. The SHO further said the police are waiting for the victim’s family, who were arriving from Peshawar, before registering the case. Further investigations are under way.

In a separate incident, a young man was found dead inside his house located near Pehlwan Goth, within the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre from where his family took his body home without letting medico-legal formalities be conducted. SHO Rao Zakir, while quoting the initial investigations, said the deceased was differently-abled and apparently killed himself with a sharp object.
