Two women shot dead by brothers over separate domestic issues

LAHORE: Two men gunned down their sisters over domestic and property issues separately.

In the first incident, a man shot dead his 30-year-old married sister over domestic issue in the Mahmood Booti area in Baghbanpura police precincts.

The police said that Shabana had shifted to her parents’ house after estrangement with his her husband Riaz, of Badami Bagh, a few weeks ago.

On Friday, she had an argument with her brother Zahid over domestic issues on which Zahid shot at her and fled. Shabana succumbed to her wounds at a hospital. The police sent the body for an autopsy and registered a case on the complaint of Riaz.

In the second incident, a 35-year-old woman expired in a local hospital on Friday, seven days after she was shot at and injured by her brother over property issue in Sherakot police limits.

The police said Aslam, of New Shalimar Road, Ghosia Colony, had shot at and injured his sister Robina on June 21 over a property issue. He also attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon. Robin was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to her wounds on Friday.

The police registered a case against Aslam and his sons on the complaint of his elder brother Muhammad Hussain and sent the body for an autopsy.

Shot dead: Rivals shot dead a 42-year-old man in Misri Shah police precincts on Friday.

The police said that Abdul Lateef, alias Puppo, of Newa Mohallah, Shadbagh, was on his way along with his companions to attend a court hearing when seven suspects, including Zeeshan, Amir, Munir, Ghulam Abbas and Tasleem, intercepted them near Chowk Nakhuda and shot at Latif and fled. He was rushed to a hospital but to no avail.

The police said that the accused had nursed grudge against the victim because of old enmity. The accused party had already murdered the victim’s sister and her husband on Ring Road a few months back. Lateef also sustained bullet wounds in that attack.

The police registered a case on the compliant of victim’s brother Shaukat and shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy.

Killed: Two men were killed and a boy received injuries when the roof of their dilapidated house in Nadarabad Colony near Manawala Stop on Bedian Road collapsed on Friday.

Upon being informed, rescuers rushed to the scene, pulled Irfan, Kshif and a ten-year-old boy out of the debris and rushed them to a hospital where both of the men were pronounced dead. The boy’s condition is also said to be precarious. The police handed over the bodies to their families after fulfilling legal formalities.

Expires: A 48-year-old man, who was in custody in connection with a crime in Gulberg area, expired at a hospital on Friday. The Iqbal Town police also identified him as a robbery suspect.

The police said Ghulam Nabi, along with his two accomplices, had shot at and wounded a constable in Gulberg area two weeks back.

The police said that Nabi was in custody and was admitted to the hospital with serious medical complications. The body was sent for an autopsy.
