Two women among five killed in SWA over ‘honour’ issue

WANA: Five persons, including two women, were killed when unidentified persons attacked a house in Azam Warsak in South Waziristan Agency with hand-grenades, local sources said on Sunday.

The sources said that unidentified persons lobbed hand-grenades into a house in Kalo Shah in Azam Warsak area. “Five persons, including two women, were killed while seven others sustained injuries in the explosion,” said a local tribesman.

The injured were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Wana from where two of them were shifted to Multan due to their critical condition. Officials of the political administration said that the incident was the result of an honour-related issue. Local elders have asked the administration to impose ban on carrying weapons in Wana, the administrative headquarters of South Waziristan Agency, and adjacent areas to avoid bloodshed.
