Trader kills daughter, injures wife over suspicion

LAHORE, August 25 2005: A businessman shot dead his daughter, injured wife and another daughter at his house in Ramghar, Mughalpura Wednesday August 24 as he was suspicious about their character, the local police said.

The police have arrested the accused and registered a case against him on the complaint of his daughter. The police recovered the murder weapon from his possession. He alleged that his wife and daughters’ character were suspicious. He stopped them but they did not listen to him. “My daughters used to move around with unidentified persons and return home late night. I stopped them but they never listened to me. So I decided to kill my wife and daughters, but I did not succeed in my mission,” he told the police.

He also informed the police that “while studying in a Rawalpindi college his daughters Kausar and Kahkshan with the help of a youth Nasir Mughal abducted a rich man of Islamabad Faisal Mukhtar for Rs 3 million ransom in 2004.

However, ‘deal’ was matured at Rs 300,000 against the release of the abductee. After receiving the ransom, they murdered the abductee. At first they kept the abductee in Adventure Hotel Rawalpindi and later shifted him to a rented house, where they killed him.

Kausar and Kahkshan were arrested by the police, while their co-accused Nasir Mughal is still at large. A case was registered against them under section 302/365-A with Waris Khan police station.

They remained in imprisonment in Adiala Jail for about 11 months. “Later I shifted to Lahore but his wife and daughters did not change their habits. So I decided to kill them all and I am not guilty of my act,” he informed the police.

In her statement, complainant Kiran, 18, daughter of accused Muhammad Zaman, while denying the charges levelled against them by the accused, said her father killed her sister Kausar, injured mother Husna and sister Kahkshan over a monetary dispute.

She said in the morning she along with her sisters Kausar, 21, and Kahkashan, was sleeping in their room, when they heard screams of her mother Husna, 45, from her parents’ room. They rushed to her parents’ room and spotted their father stabbing their mother with a chopper, she added. When they tried to rescue their mother, their father opened fire at them with a pistol, killing one of her sisters Kausar on the spot and injuring Kahkshan, she added. However, she narrowly escaped, she further added.

She further said her uncle living in UK sent some money for the wedding of her sister Kausar. Her father kept half of the amount with him and gave the remaining amount to her mother.

They contacted their uncle and asked him to send more money as half of the amount was kept by their father. Her uncle sent more money to her mother. Her father used to ask her mother to give the money to him, which she denied. Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and removed the body to the morgue and shifted the injured to the Mayo Hospital.
