Three persons gunned down over karo-kari

SUKKUR: Three persons including two brothers were gunned down and two minor children were injured by the armed persons over a karo-kari dispute, in village Rajab Tart Jatoi, falling under the Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station jurisdiction, district Shikarpur on early morning Sunday.

A group of armed persons barged into the house of Gamboh Jatoi, and opened indiscriminate firing, killing Gul Mir Jatoi 33, his brother Ali Hassan Jatoi, wife Ladi 28, and injuring two minor children Sajjid Ali 5 and Qalandar Bux 10, and fled from the scene.

The area police shifted the dead bodies and injured to civil hospital, Shikarpur and have registered an FIR no. 118/2007 on the complaint of Mst Habiban w/o Gainboh Jatoi against 30 accused including Wengus Jatoi, Laloo Jatoi, Amlo Jatoi, Mumtaz Jatoi, Kifayatullah Jatoi and others, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report. The locals have claimed that the triple murder was the result of an old karo-kari dispute between two groups of Jatoi tribe.

Three kiiled: Three persons including a woman were put to death by the armed persons in separate incidents in Kandhkot and Garhi Khairo on late Saturday night and Sunday.

In the first incident, which took place in village Mari, falling under the Risaldar police station jurisdiction, near Kandhkot on late night Saturday, a teenage girl was put to death by the armed persons over the pretext of karo-kari. A group of armed persons raided the house of Warris Golato and shot dead his daughter Mst Latifan, 15, and fled.

The Risaldar police shifted the body to civil hospital, Kandhkot for post-mortem. On the complaint of Warris Gollato. The area police has registered a case against five accused including Karim Bux Golato, Ali Hassan and others, but no arrest was made.

In other incident, which took place in Dad Mohammad Lohar Laro, falling under the Garhi Khairo police station jurisdiction, near Kandhkot, two persons were shot dead by armed persons over old land dispute. Abdul Sattar Jamali and Mour Jamali were on way to agricultural land, when a group of armed persons appeared on the scene, shot them dead and fled. Hassan Jamali a relative of deceased Mour Jamali, has registered a case with the area police against nine accused including Buland Jamati, Usman Jamali, Abdul Ghafoor Jamali and others, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
