LAHORE: Former miss universe and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen will enact the role of slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto in a biopic, to be made by Pakistani filmmakers.
“Yes, I am keen to play the role. The producers are waiting for a clearance from the PPP. Once we get the go-ahead, we will start the movie,” the Hindustan Times quoted Sushmita as saying.
According to the newspaper, Sushmita is working hard to get into her character by reading extensively on the life of Bhutto and watching footage of the former Pakistani prime minister. She is simultaneously working on her Urdu diction as well.
Co-produced by Zaid Aziz and Henna Rai of the Karachi production firm Vox Vision and Leicester-based Sum Films, the film will be bilingual — English and Urdu.
Titled ‘Benazir Bhutto: The Movie’, it will be shot at various locations in Pakistan, the US, Britain and Dubai.
Apparently, Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films also has plans to make a biopic on the leader. daily times monitor
