Speculations abound the death of an eight-year-old girl

SUKKUR: An eight-year-old girl was found with a bullet wound on Tuesday by a man called Mohammad Kamran Jatoi in a house at Empire Road in Larkana. The girl, Kainat, the daughter of Gulab Bhutto, had gone to Kamran’s house to play with his sisters.

According to Kamran, the children took out a pistol from the cupboard which accidently went off, with a bullet going through Kainat’s stomach. She was rushed to Chandka hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

However, Kamran has been accused of attempting to sexually assault Kainat by the residents of the area. When she screamed for help and tried to run away, he shot her to prevent her from telling anyone.

They allege that when Kainat fell down Kamran took her back inside the house to conceal the crime and told the hospital and the police that it was an accident. On the other hand, Hubdar Jatoi, Kamran’s father, said that the pistol went off while Kamran was cleaning it.

The police visited the crime scene and found it strange that there were blood stains on the street outside the house but not inside it.

“If the girl was accidently killed in the house then why were the blood stains found on the street?” asked SHO Mohammad Ameen Khoso. He said that Kainat was shot on the street and then taken inside the house, but Kamran tells a different story.

A case was registered against Kamran on the complaint of Kainat’s father, Gulab Bhutto, and an investigation is under way.
