Six-year-old orphan girl gang-raped

LAHORE-A 6-year-old school going girl was allegedly gang-raped by four culprits in Narang Mandi police limits of Sheikhupura district the other day.

She is admitted in the Surgical Ward of the Mayo Hospital in critical condition for the last three days and doctors say that her life is in danger.

Doctors have treated her with six blood bags due to excessive bleeding but her condition is deteriorating day by day.

Locals caught hold of two culprits red-handed and handed them over to the Narang Mandi police which had registered a case against them on the complaint of victim’s mother Nusrat Bibi.

The orphan girl whose father had died some three years ago, belonged to a poor family while the accused were members of influential families of the area.

The complainant Nusrat, a resident of Sadanwali, Narang Mandi, accused the Narang Mandi police of providing shelter to the accused of her case.

Talking to the newsmen at Mayo Hospital, she revealed that the parents of family members of the three youth are threatening her of dire consequences for pursuing the case while police was separately backing the accused.

Nusrat said that her husband who was labourer by profession had died some three years ago and after his death she was the only breadwinner of her family.

She was earning livelihood by working at the homes of local people and wanted to get her children educated.
Her daughter Taiba Nusrat aged 6, was student of second class in a public school in the same area.

She said that last Tuesday Taiba was returning home after attending her school at around 1pm. When she reached near Arshad’s Haveli, his three sons Talha Mehmood (14), Bhila (13), Zubair (18),and one of their friends Muzammil son of Aziz intercepted her forcibly and took her inside the Haveli where all the criminals gang-raped her and fled from the crime scene when she fell unconscious.

Some locals on hearing hue and cry rushed to the scene and managed to catch two of the culprits and handed them over to the police.

The locals took the minor girl to a local hospital where doctors referred her to Mayo Hospital immediately due to her critical condition.

Nusrat appealed to the high-ups of the police to provide justice as the local police was busy and active to protect the accused and reluctant in arresting a criminal Zubair too.

She claimed that police has deliberately removed the name of main culprit Zubair from the FIR lodged against the four rapists. When contacted, SHO Syed Riaz Shah said that he has arrested all those persons who were nominated in the FIR on the request of the victim’s mother. The SHO said that he was ready to include the further name of any person if the heirs pointed out.

Professor Dr. Mahmood Shaukat told the newsmen that the injuries are of critical nature ,however, the minor girl would take sufficient time in her recovery.
