Six held over gang-rape charge in Abbottabad

HARIPUR: The police arrested six accused involved in a gang-rape of a 15-year-old girl in the limits of Nosherwan Police Station in Abbottabad district on Wednesday, sources said.

The sources said that two accused Saqib and Asad lured a girl (S) in Takya village on Tuesday and they took her to a house where they along with other five accomplices sexually assaulted her.

Next day, she managed to escape from their captivity and went to the police station where the police party headed SHO Saeed Khan taking timely action raided the house and arrested six accused. Those arrested were identified as Asad, Saqib, Wasif, Muhammad Aqil, Muhammad Attique, Bilal while their another accomplice Malik Asad escaped from the scene.

The police registered the case against the accused under sections 376/34 Pakistan Penal Code and started investigation. She was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Abbottabad for medical examination which proved that she was subjected to gang-rape.

Official held: The officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Amjad Qudoos, who was a special officer in the Income Department, for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds allocated for the 2005 earthquake victims.

The News
