Rapists of girl student to be brought to justice: Sana

LAHORE: Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan told the Punjab Assembly on Monday that rapists of girl student would be awarded exemplary punishments. In his report presented to the House, he confirmed gang rape against 18-year-old girl student of Muzaffargarh. He said police officials failed to provide justice to the rape victim when she approached them for justice after the incident.

Besides, he said, the main accused Nadir influenced registration of report against him and following which he succeeded in getting bail from the court. He said the chief minister Punjab had already suspended DPO Muzaffargarh while on his instruction DSP, SHO and investigation officer had been arrested. The minister reiterated that the PML-N government believes in providing prompt and cheap justice, adding that it would ensure justice to the victim’s family. It is pertinent to mention that raped girl Amina Bibi, aged 18 doused herself with petrol and set herself on fire in front of Police Station Village of Beet Meer Haza, Muzaffargarh a few days ago.
