NWFP to establish women industrial estate in Swat

PESHAWAR: Member of Awami National Party (ANP) working committee, Gul Mina Bilal Ahmed, said that in collaboration with the donors’ agencies, a Women Industrial Estate would be established in Swat In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, she said that five hundred skilled women of Malakand Division would be sent to foreign countries and this series would be started by end of this month.

The lists of the skilled women had been prepared in this connection. She continued that after returning home, donor agencies would provide aid, of ten to seventy five thousand rupees, to the professional women for them to restart their professions. She maintained that the present government was not only providing employment on merit to the youths of Malakand Division and other parts of the province, but was also trying to provide vocational education to the youths.

Donor agencies had also agreed to drive twenty-five thousand skilled and unskilled youths of Malakand Division to foreign countries, like Libya, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other European countries, she added.

She appealed to the federal government that relief funds for the affectees of Malakand Division be handed over to the provincial government of NWFP and NWFP be declared a war-affected zone. She also announced that a new policy for the assistance of helpless women was being introduced and according to that policy, shelter would be provided to them and they would receive skills, with the help of donor agencies. Welfare centres would also be established for women.
