Child marriage is rampant in our society. To begin a new life with a new life partner is tough and needs commitment. Alarmingly, in our conservative society parents decide the fate of their children. Interactions with teenage brides show that mental health support is critical for them otherwise they face long-term mental health complications.
Despite possessing numerous biological, physical and societal side effects, child marriage is common here. The intelligentsia and medical practitioners must educate the people. Where there is a problem there is always a solution. The government needs to impose strict rules against child marriage and NGOs should hold mega workshops and seminars regarding the effects of early marriage. Finally, the media ought to play its role by highlighting the problems associated with these sorts of marriages.
