Man slays brother for illicit relations with wife

KARACHI: A security guard of a private company killed his younger brother, suspecting him of having illicit relations with his wife on Monday morning at the main market in Al-Asif Square.

Nishat, 23, son of Hussain Khan, hailed from Peshawar and was a resident of Al-Asif Square within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. He was shot by his brother Tasleem at the market. According to DSP Iftikhar Lodhi, the deceased had illicit relations with the culprit’s wife. “Tasleem had frequently warned his younger brother and on the day of the incident, after an exchange of hot words, he shot him and fled,” DSP Lodhi said, adding that the victim received several bullet wounds on his body and died on the spot. Tasleem used his official sub-machine gun in the incident.

Tasleem is a father of seven children, while Nishat has left behind a widow and four children. Police have taken the culprit’s wife into custody as they say this will lead to the arrest of Tasleem.

Meanwhile, the victim’s body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy, from where his family took it away after legal formalities. A case has been registered on behalf of the deceased’s brother.

Body found at Sea View: The body of a 30-year-old unknown man washed ashore at Sea View, in the limits of Darakhshan Police Station. The body was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities.

Body of 5-year-old found: The body of a 5-year-old girl who went missing on May 12 was recovered from the bushes near PCSIR laboratories within the limits of Mobina Town police station.

Police officials said they found the corpse of a five-year-old girl along with a pair of slippers and pyjamas near the body. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors reserved the medical report. Later, the deceased was identified as Aliya, daughter of Akhtar Javed, a resident of Squad Colony, Block 1, Gulshan-e-Iqbal. According to the father, who is a labourer by profession, Aliya had gone out to get sweets but never returned. The police were of the view that the victim was raped before being murdered and that an area resident or relative must be involved. However, investigations are underway.

PCG sepoy dies in road mishap: A personnel of the Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG), Shehzad Din, 40, was killed when a speeding trailer smashed into his motorcycle near the fire brigade station located within the limits of Jackson police station. The body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities.

The deceased was a resident of PCG Headquarters, Garden. No case was registered till the time this report was filed.

Newborn found dead: The body of a newborn baby boy was found from a garbage dump in Sector 32/A, Korangi No 1. According to Chippa welfare, the body was buried at the Mewa Shah graveyard.
