LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Complaint Cell on Thursday took notice of a press report stating that a man had allegedly set his ex-wife ablaze after throwing petrol on her in Nawan Lahore.
The Cell directed the District & Sessions Judge, Toba Tek Singh, to look into the matter and submit a detailed report on steps taken by the police, along with his own comments within a week.
The victim, Naila Bibi, had got divorce through court from Touqeer Husain of Arifwala. In retaliation, he along with Babar, Sadia Bibi and Rani Bibi came to the house of Naila’s parents at the village Chak 338-JB and set her on fire after dousing her with petrol and fled from the scene. Naila suffered serious burns.
