LAHORE (January 16 2008): Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) will extend every possible help to establish Women Industrial Estate to encourage women entrepreneurs. LCCI President Muhammad Ali Mian said this while addressing the participants of a workshop on ‘Magic of Wealth Creation’ organised by the LCCI Women Resource Centre here Tuesday.

Mian said the LCCI has always encouraged women to come forward and work for the promotion of their enterprises side-by-side with the business being run by the men. Chairperson LCCI Standing Committee on Women Entrepreneurs Development Shamim Akhtar, Chief Executive ISEI (Pvt) Ltd Dr Masood Butt and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.

Mian said that without women representation in the business activities it is not possible for the country to achieve set goal. He said that more women should come forward and start their own businesses as they have all abilities to become a business tycoon.

He said that the LCCI Women Resource Centre is not only helping to guide more women to become successful business women but also trying to boost economic activities in the country.

Chairperson of the LCCI Standing Committee on Women Entrepreneurs Development Ms Shamim Akhtar stressed the need for long-term strategy to overcome the issues being faced by women entrepreneurs. She said that women have extra ordinary capabilities but lack of training and opportunities are the big hurdles in the way of their development. She said that workshop on “Magic of Wealth Creation” was organised to educate women entrepreneurs that how to create wealth.

ISEI Chief Executive Dr Masood Butt threw light on various aspects of the workshop. He said that women entrepreneurs should divert their attention towards the innovations and management that is the key of success. LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Muzaffar Ali and Vice President Shafqat Saeed Paracha also spoke on the occasion.
