LAHORE (February 08 2008): Students of School of Media and Communication, Beacon house National University (BNU) will develop a mock media campaign to mark White Ribbon Pakistan’s Campaign to celebrate international Women’s Day on March 8th.
In this connection WRPC Presentation was held at School of Media and Communication BNU. Country Director, WRPC Omar Aftab briefed the students about the WRPC’s objectives and different aspects of this mock campaign. While speaking on the occasion he told that “WRPC is working on a novel idea to involve men to eradicate Violence against Women. For this purpose we are specifically targeting youth as they are not only the future parents but they are working for setting up a violence free society for women.” WRPC is arranging different activities and the mock media campaign is a part of these activities and the idea is to train future media professionals he added.
The idea proposed for this mock campaign include making of a short video, documentary on various aspects of gender based violence, slogans, statements for posters and banners, content writing and designing of posters and banners, making of public service advertisements for print and electronic media and interviews. All the projects prepared by the students will be displayed on March 8th to mark WRPC’s 2008 celebrations international women’s day.
