KARACHI (APP): Sindh Minister for Women Development

KARACHI (APP): Sindh Minister for Women Development, Nadir Panjwani, has sought support and patronage of credible NGOs for empowerment of women.

She was talking to a 6-member delegation of United Memon Jamaat led by Yayha Bawani at her office here Thursday.

The Minister appreciated the humanitarian and welfare services being rendered by United Memon Jamaat particularly in the fields of Health and Education, but said, that since women constitute 50 percent of population, they need support and patronage of credible NG0s for their empowerment and improved living conditions for them.

She said NGOs and institutions working for the cause of women will be welcomed for their participation in various programs of Women Development Department.

Ms Panjwani exhorted the delegation members to see as to how their Jamaat can assist the Women Development Department programs envisaging Micro Financing.

Earlier the delegation leader, Yayha Bawani informed the Minister of his Jamaat’s contributions in the fields of Health and Education and said that their activities are aimed at supporting the government efforts to control Hepatitis-C which presently is number one problem for people of rural areas of Sindh Province.

He praised the Minister for her efforts towards empowerment of women.

Secretary Women Development, Abdus Subhan was also present on the occasion.
