Instead of students, buffaloes found in girls’ school

DADU: The district and sessions judge of Dadu issued notices to three education officers on Thursday for turning the primary girls’ school of Kheero Panhwar into a cattle pen.

Sessions Judge Ashok Kumar issued notices to district primary education officer Abdul Aziz Chachar, taluka primary education officer Abdul Majeed Thahim and taluka education officer Apa Nishat to appear in the court on Aug 21 along with the school record explaining why it had been turned into a cattle pen.

School headmistress Razia Sultana had told local reporters about turning the primary school into a cattle pen. A team of local newspapers visited the school and printed the news in their papers some three days ago.

Judge Ashok Kumar took notice of the news and directed Civil Judge Gul Mohammad Brohi to raid the school and restore it to its original purpose.

The civil judge found three buffaloes in the primary school, handed them over to the Khudaabad police station and directed them to take action according to the law. The SHO registered a case under Section 550.

District secondary education officer Nazeer Chandio, acting taluka education officer for males Abdul Majeed Thahim and taluka education officer for females Apa Nishat appeared in the district and sessions court while district education officer for elementary and primary Abdul Aziz Chachar did not appear in court.

The judge directed Aziz Chachar, Apa Nishat and Majeed Thahim to appear in court on Aug 21.
