Greed led nephews to kill woman

KARACHI: An adopted daughter of a cop was killed and his wife was injured by his two nephews in Ibrahim Hyderi on Saturday. Rabia, 11, an adopted child of the police constable, Amanullah, was stabbed to death and his wife Jhanara, 35, received wounds, when Amanullah’s nephews Baban and Shabeer attacked them and fled while taking away Rs 45,000. The injured Jhanara shouted for help, on which her neighbours rushed to the scene and saw Jhanara and the girl in a pool of blood.

They immediately informed the police, which reached the spot and took them to the JPMC. According to the police, Amanullah was posted in Police Head Quarters, Garden, and his nephews were living with him. On Friday night, he brought some cash and handed it to his wife in the presence of his nephews. The police said the crime was motivated by greed for money. Amanulla was on his duty when the crime was committed.

Meanwhile, a woman killed her husband by throwing acid on him in Surjani Town police limits. Muhammad Shah Alam, 45, was killed when his wife Reno, after exchanging hot words, sprinkled acid on him at her residence in Surjani Town police jurisdiction.
Police said that after exchange of hot words, Aslam tried to throw the acid on his wife, but she pushed him and the acid fell on him and he died on the spot. A young boy was killed in an aerial firing in Korangi. Arman, 11, had gone to attend a wedding party in Korangi, when one Azeem and his friends start aerial firing and a stray bullet hit him. Later, area police registered a case against the accused.
