LAKKI MARWAT: Students of Frontier Education Foundation Girls College, Naurang on Saturday blocked the G.T. Road against shortage of teachers in the institution.

Over 50 girl students came out on the roan in Naurang city and blocked it to vehicular traffic. They said that the college lacked teachers of different subjects, hampering their education.

“We deposited all types of fees and now it is the responsibility of the high-ups concerned to ensure availability of teachers in the college,” said a student. She said the college had no teachers for physics, mathematics, statistics and other subjects.

The local police and college teachers also reached the place and assured the protesting students that vacant posts of teachers would soon be filled. After the assurance the protesters dispersed.

Meanwhile, teachers of Working Folks Grammar Higher Secondary School, Naurang, boycotted classes against nonpayment of salaries.

“Teachers of the school have not been paid salaries of last month prompting them to show their anger and unrest,” said a teacher wishing not to be named. He said the teachers gathered in front of the principal’s office to record their grievances.

He said that the teachers of working folk’s grammar school, Ghaznikhel were also without salaries for last three months.

He said that teachers were planning to launch a protest movement if salaries were not paid to them without delay.
