Eight girls’ colleges in Malakand planned

PESHAWAR: At least eight more colleges for girls would be established in Malakand division while the damaged educational institutions would be reconstructed with the financial assistance of different donor agencies, said Awami National Party working committee member Gul Mina Bilal Ahmad.

She distributed cheques among the displaced girl students from Malakand at Bacha Khan Markaz here on Sunday and said Rs5,000 to Rs15,000 would be given to girl students from the affected area to enable them to continue their studies. For this purpose lists of students had already been prepared, she said.

On the occasion, cheques of Rs5,000 to Rs7,000 were distributed among 100 students. Ms Bilal said that provincial government was making utmost efforts to provide quality education to womenfolk on priority basis.

It would bring positive changes in life standard of people of the affected areas of Malakand, she added.

She said that under macro banking system they had planned to eradicate unemployment.

The provincial government, she said, was planning to appoint women jailers. Besides 500 jobless people would be sent abroad for employment, she said.
