CM takes notice of gang rape at police station

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of the gang rape of two sisters, Asma and Najma, allegedly by the station house officer of the Khabra police, Abdullah Awan, and others.

The CM ordered the Sukkur DIG on Monday to submit a report on the incident within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Ghotki SSP suspended SHO Awan and Constable Razzaq Malik.

Later, the two accused were arrested and produced before court in Ghotki. The court remanded them in police custody for five days.

Having received the CM’s order the DIG appointed DSP Niaz Chandio as inquiry officer.

The DSP reported that the Ghotki police had recovered a kidnapped man, Sanaullah, of Sarghoda, who disclosed that his kidnappers had kept him in the house of the two girls.

Following the disclosure the police raided the house and the kidnapped man identified both girls, saying they had been providing food to him.

The DSP also reported that an FIR had been registered against the two girls for helping the kidnappers.
