Another woman offers children for sale

NAWABSHAH: Another poverty-stricken mother offered her two children for sale here in Qazi Ahmad town on Monday.

Rehana said that she had nothing to feed and educate her children, adding, she was under pressure by the man from whom she had taken loan. She said the man had occupied her land as she was not able to pay back the loan amounting Rs 120,000.

Some philanthropists asked Rehana not to sell the children, offering her to take care of them. Meanwhile, DPO Rukhsar Ahmed Khawar directed Station House Officer Qazi Ahmed Ghulam Sarwar Zardari to take action against the man, who had taken possession of Rehanaís land.

He told journalists that Rehana had been prevented from selling her children. Seperately, on the call of the Sindh Flour Mills Association, all the flour mills of the district stopped grinding of wheat.

Flour prices have crossed Rs 30 per kilogramme. Chakki owners said a 100-kg wheat bag is being sold at Rs 2,515 in the market while the grinding of wheat costs three rupees per kilo due to which per kilo rates of flour has increased.
