SADIQABAD: A kiln worker has allegedly kidnapped another worker’s five-year-old daughter for Rs200,000 ransom, and threatened the latter to kill the victim if he informed police about the kidnapping.

Complainant Basheer Ahmad told the police that he worked with a brick kiln situated at Chak 9-N near Bypass. He said that he was out of his home along with his wife. Meanwhile, his colleague Ramazan allegedly kidnapped his daughter Sumera. Later, the accused called him from his mobile (0307-4592554) and demanded Rs200,000 for her release and also threatened that if Basheer informed the police about the kidnapping for ransom, he would kill the victim.

On the other side, the local police claimed to have formed special teams for early arrest of proclaimed offenders across the Sadiqabad Circle. On the special directives issued by the inspector general of police, a police high-up said, special tasks had been given to police officers for arresting fugitives.

The police officers found negligent would not be tolerated, said SP Circle Zeshan Siddiqi talking to the SHOs of six police stations of Sadiqabad at his office. He directed the station house officers of the circle to devotedly conduct raids for arrest of the criminals by making the patrolling effective.

He said that for their apprehension, lists of top 10 and top 20 most wanted proclaimed offenders had been prepared and handed over to the newly constituted police teams.
