A large number of rape cases have been reported in Islamabad, Punjab and elsewhere during the last five years. But not a single culprit has been awarded exemplary punishment to serve as a deterrent to others. An increasing number of rape cases are taking place and being reported daily. Some politicians try to ‘console’ rape victims by providing them with financial assistance but they don’t take any substantial steps to control the crime.
Will the worthy chief justice take notice of the plight of the unfortunate victim of this horrible crime, monitor the progress of rape cases in the lower courts, and punish those responsible for delays and obstruction of justice?
