SUKKUR: Two women were killed on the pretext of karo-kari in different parts of upper Sindh on Monday.
A young woman was put to death by her husband over the pretext of karo-kari in the katcha area of Sadhuja police station jurisdiction, near Pano Akil.
Jaro Shaikh suspected that his wife Khanzadi was having illicit relations with one Ali Nawaz Shaikh. When she was preparing meals, the accused shot her dead and fled. No case was registered.
Hanifa was murdered by her husband Gul Muhammad Labano in village Loung Labano in the Lakhi area, reports our Shikarpur correspondent.
The murderer escaped after killing his wife with blows of sharp sickle. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.
On the complaint of Atta Muhammad, father of the deceased, Lakhi police registered an FIR against Gul Mohammad Labano, husband of the deceased.
